Theme: Identifying the Role of Higher Ed
Date: 11 November 2017 (Saturday)
Time: 8.30am – 1.30pm
Venue: LT B.2.17
The Lifelong Learning Conference provides a platform for the examination of an education that empowers learners to go beyond the classroom and chart their own life journey within society. It is a conference designed for participants from the education, workforce development, and corporate training sectors to exchange conceptual ideas, case studies, grassroots initiatives, etc., which aims at strengthening lifelong learning in Singapore and in the region.
For this inaugural conference, the theme identifying the role of higher ed prompts us to focus on the institutions of higher ed as one major leverage to augment lifelong learning. We can expect insights on how institutions are able to encourage a culture of learning for all, ways of operationalizing Validation of Prior Learning (VPL), understanding pathways of higher ed to labour markets, building learning cities, and last but not least, advancing pedagogy in adult learning.
The World Speaker Series is an initiative mooted by Lifelong Learning Council to invite speakers to inspire the community to take the lead in making lifelong learning a way of life and support the lifelong learning movement in building a culture of learning in Singapore.
This conference will act as a learning hub to germinate and propagate ideas as well as develop practices that will enrich lives and nations.
Academia, adult educators, CET trainers and providers, industry representatives, education & workforce development policymakers, Learning & Development professionals.
Registration is complimentary. Closing date is on 3 Nov 2017.
