The Faculty Learning Symposium (FLS) offers an opportunity for faculty and colleagues within the UniSIM fraternity to connect, share ideas, and insights on ways of improving teaching and learning. The programme has a mix of talks, a panel discussion, and lunch.
The theme for FLS 2016, Voices: Everyday experiences of technology in learning, brings the focus back to the students and the faculty among us who have used technology as part and parcel of their learning and teaching. This theme is timely. In recent years, while we have observed an uptake of technology in education, the experiences of our people are a little less heard. As we progress into the next ten years of UniSIM’s journey, where we may see even more advanced technologies such as adaptive learning, learning analytics being used, it is crucial for us to tune-in to the voices in our community. This is so that we build on our positive experiences, continually improve on others while rooted in sound pedagogical foundations. So join us in hearing the voices of our students and lecturers, and their everyday experiences of technology in learning.
